Islamabad is once again in the spotlight as the government moves forward with long-awaited housing developments under FGEHA. The Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, will officially break ground for the development of F-14 and F-15 sectors, marking a fresh start for projects that remained pending for years. This move gives new hope to thousands of families waiting for homes in the capital.
The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) is leading this initiative. The authority has already awarded the infrastructure development contract to the National Logistic Cell (NLC), and the team will now begin work at full speed.
FGEHA F-14 & F-15: A New Beginning
For many, F-14 and F-15 represent years of uncertainty and long waiting periods. FGEHA spokesperson Faiz Ahmed Sial confirmed that the authority expects to complete the development of these sectors within three years.
NLC, a well-reputed organization in infrastructure development, will ensure timely delivery. After the minister performs the groundbreaking ceremony, NLC will immediately start construction and maintain a fast-paced development schedule.
This initiative forms part of the government’s broader plan to accelerate stalled projects and provide relief to applicants who have waited for years.
Upcoming Sectors: F-12 & G-12
The housing authority will also launch F-12 and G-12 within the current year under FGEHA.
F-12: The authority has finalized the layout plan and PC-I (project cost estimate), with an estimated cost of Rs35 billion.
G-12: Officials have nearly completed the layout plan. They will prepare the PC-I and begin the tendering process once they finalize it.
Officials confirmed that the authority will start development work on both sectors simultaneously. The government announced land awards for F-12 and G-12 years ago, and officials will start paying landowners before launching development work. Authorities expect construction to begin in the coming months.
Addressing Delayed Projects
While new sectors are launching, some older projects are still facing delays under FGEHA, including:
Sky Gardens – Near Bhara Kahu, Murree. Phase I is 40% complete, Phase II at 42%. 80 plots in Sector A were handed over on July 3, 2025, while Blocks G and D are expected by March 2026.
Green Enclave-I – Launched in 2009, development remains stalled due to legal and joint venture disputes, though negotiations are reportedly in final stages.
Chaklala & Kashmir Heights – Work has resumed, and contracts have been awarded, indicating progress towards clearing the backlog.
A New Era for Islamabad Housing
The groundbreaking of F-14 and F-15 is more than a ceremonial event; it reflects a renewed government focus through FGEHA on addressing housing shortages and completing long-delayed projects.
